DIVING CERTIFICATIONS

In this specialty course, divers will refresh and expand on their knowledge of diving physics, diving physiology, decompression theory and the aquatic environment. This course is also the first step to becoming an SSI Dive professional.

  • Explain how physics and physiology are intertwined with everyday diving activities.
  • To present the diver with a more specific approach to diving and explain why the underwater world must be respected.
  • This certification is a prerequisite for entry into the SSI Divemaster program

The goal here is to educate recreational scuba divers about diving equipment: what is available, how it is used, and why it is necessary for performance and safety.

  • Learn to select the Total Diving System that best suits your needs.
  • Gain the knowledge to complete simple repairs and maintain your system properly for increased longevity and performance.
  • Understand the reasons for professionally maintaining your life support equipment.

Dive Gap Year

In the Divemaster role you are directly responsible for and work primarily with certified divers. As a DM you will lead certified divers on underwater tours, work on dive boats and lead trips for a Dive Centre. You will use group management, accident prevention, and specialized diving skills, such as boat and navigation.

  • Lead group trips and be a guide on dive boats.
  • Recognize potentially stressful situations and be prepared to handle emergency situations.

YACHTING CERTIFICATIONS

STCW Basic Safety Training (STCW 2010) certificates is a legal minimum requirement. The aim is to give seafarers the essential education and training in Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid and Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities, with an additional Proficiency in Security Awareness.

  • If you want to work on a yacht, commercial ships, cruise liner, or virtually any other maritime environment, STCW certificates are mandatory and essential.
  • In most cases, you will need a STCW Basic Safety Training Certificate before you can apply for an offshore job.
  • If your STCW certificate is expired or older than 5 years you may require mandatory refresher training.

  • Personal Survival Techniques (PST).
  • Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR).
  • Proficiency in Dedicated Security Duties (PDSD).
  • Elementary Maritime First Aid.
